The Swedish-Polish fashion designer is known for her experimental creations in unusual materials and contexts, between clothing and art.
Bea Szenfeld (b. 1972) has created admired white paper garments for stars like Lady Gaga and for a culture minister at the Nobel Party. She is one of our foremost in the borderland between art and design and also a recurring exhibitor at Liljevalchs, with participation in everything from Spring Salons to major fashion exhibitions.
At this exhibition we get another chance to see "Station 5", this light but heavy work of fallen child carcasses in recycled paper. The work, which was featured at Vårsalongen 2018, has a sadness and a seriousness and a paradoxical weight despite its material ease. In addition, Bea presents three new white and folded creations and invites you to her own creative work table.
The exhibition revolves around material purity and the art of transforming raw materials into something more, something bigger. This house, Liljevalchs+, in everything built of sand and water, lifts and becomes feather-light by Bea Szenfeld and her folded paper.
The exhibition is shown in Liljevalchs+.
