September Sessions x Liljevalchs / Dynamic Resistance

As part of the September Sessions art festival, Liljevalchs presents a site-specific performance, Dynamic Resistance (for Liljevalchs) by artists Jojo Ahlkvist and Hedda Bauer. The start time for the performance is 13.00.

Dynamic Resistance is a site-specific performance, or a "queer power play", as the artists Jojo Ahlkvist and Hedda Bauer have described it. In the work, a number of actors move across the site to which the work relates, in this case Liljevalchs. By engaging the site's visitors, themes such as invisibility, inclusion and exclusivity are approached. Different ways of exercising power, or the lack thereof, in public spaces. The actors' costumes are also created in relation to Liljevalchs, to reflect the history of the institution and challenge its conditions.

Dynamic Resistance has previously been shown site-specifically at Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna (2018), Cabaret Voltaire & Münsterhof in Zurich (2021) and Kristianstads konsthall (2022).

September Sessions is a festival of contemporary art in Stockholm, between September 19-22. During the four days, the festival spreads out between a number of art institutions, organizations and public spaces in the city. Exhibitions, performances, concerts, IASPIS open studios, readings and more gatherings will take place.

Regular admission to Liljevalchs is valid for this event.
