Every year, the popular and appreciated Spring Salon is organized at Liljevalchs. This year, interest has been particularly high in terms of both the number of applicants and the number of visitors to the exhibition on site. This year's number of visitors amounted to 96,328, an increase of 20.6 percent compared to 2023.
On April 21, the gates at Liljevalchs closed for this year's edition of the Spring Salon with a number of visitors that increased by a fifth compared to the previous year. In 2023, the Spring Salon had 79,860 visitors and this year the number of visitors was 96,328, an increase of 20.6 percent. This year's edition of the Spring Salon also saw a 25 percent increase in the number of applicants and submitted contributions, the figure ended up at 4974, which is a new record.
A large increase in visitors, an average of 10 years younger applicants and a record number of people wanting to take part in this year's Spring Salon show that we are heading in the right direction in developing and renewing Liljevalchs and the Spring Salon.

This year's edition of the Spring Salon featured 298 works by a younger generation of artists than the average in recent years. The selection showed a great variety, ranging from painting, video, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, installation, AI, drawing and photography. The Spring Salon is a juried art exhibition open to anyone over 18 to apply. The first Salon opened in 1921, making it the country's oldest unbroken exhibition format. Each work is for sale and the price set by the participants themselves can be found in the exhibition catalog.
This year's jury consisted of curators Ashik Zaman and Tawanda Appiah, Olympic rider Peder Fredricson, who draws himself, and Joanna Sandell Wright, Director of Liljevalchs. The curators for this year's Spring Salon were Ashik Zaman and Joanna Sandell Wright.
Information about next year's application for the Spring Salon will be posted on Liljevalch's website about a week after midsummer and the jury for the 2025 Spring Salon will be presented. The e-service for applying will open at the end of August.
