Here you can find all our activities and programs for schools. We offer school tours for primary and secondary schools and adapt the visit according to age and group. We also have a creative workshop that is open during parts of the year where schools can book a place.

There are always exciting exhibitions to discover at Liljevalchs. Book a school tour and give your students the chance to meet art up close. A guided tour provides both insight into artistic expression and creates a springboard for discussions about current social issues. Tours are adapted to the age and needs of the group, making them relevant and inspiring for everyone.

Book a place in the creative workshop

Every Tuesday and Wednesday until April 23, grades 7-9 and high school can book a visit to our new creative workshop. We look at some works in the exhibition and then we go to the workshop for our own creation. Right now we are working with conceptual art, that is, art where a thought, idea or theme is at the center. The visit is completely free of charge.

Of course, schools can also visit the exhibition without a guide - as long as you contact us and make an appointment. As we have many tour groups, we need to plan all our group visits in advance, so that the on-site experience is the best possible for everyone.

Apply for the Young Spring Salon 2026

Young Spring Salon 2025 is currently on display at Liljevalchs. The Young Salon is a juried exhibition for young people in Stockholm County who turn 16 or 17 during the application year. In 2026, it is time for the thirteenth edition of the salon, and you can already start thinking about what you want to send to us. Read more about the application and how it works here.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a food pantry?

Unfortunately, we do not have a lunch room at Liljevalchs, but please contact us if you are traveling far and we will try to find a solution.

Can we bring our own tasks?

Yes, that's fine, but please remember not to use walls, plinths or floors as writing surfaces, and to be careful and move around the art gallery calmly. The accompanying teacher is responsible for the students throughout their stay.

Where can we put bags/backpacks, umbrellas and outerwear?

There are lockers in both the main building and Liljevalchs+ where you can lock them. Feel free to let several people share the same locker, as we have quite a few.

Can I bring food and drinks into the exhibition?

No.

We have booked/want to book a place in the creative workshop, what to wear?

Aprons are available to borrow, but it is a good idea to wear loose clothing suitable for creating.

Can we stay in the art gallery after the show?

The class must leave the gallery after the show if the end time is before 11am. If the end time is after 11am, it is fine to stay behind. Please remember that the accompanying teacher is responsible for the students throughout their stay.
