Here you’ll find all of our activities and programmes for schools. We offer guided tours for elementary and upper seconday schools, adapting the visit to the group’s age and needs. We also have an Art Lab open during parts of the year, where school classes can book a visit.

Guided tours for schools

At Liljevalchs, there are always exciting exhibitions to discover. Book a guided tour and give your pupils the chance to get more acquainted with the art up close. A guided tour will provide both insight in artistic expressions, and initiate discussions on current issues. The tours are adapted to the age and needs of the group, which makes them relevant and inspiring for everyone.

Visit the exhibitions on your own

Schools are welcome to visit the exhibitions without a guide – as long as you let us know and make an appointment. Since we have many guided tours, we need to plan all our group visits in advance to make sure that everyone gets the best possible experience.

Apply for Young Spring Salon 2027

Young Spring Salon is a juried exhibition that young people who turn 16 or 17 during the application year and are living in Stockholm county can apply to. In 2027, it’s time for the 14th edition of the salon, and the digital application will open on October 6th.

FAQ

Do you have a lunch room?

Unfortunately, there is no lunch room at Liljevalchs, but contact us if you have travelled far and we will do our best to find a solution.

Can we bring our own assignments?

Yes, but it’s not permitted to use walls, plinths or floors as a writing pad. We also ask that you take caution and move slowly around the art space. Accompanying teachers are responsible for their pupils during the entire stay.

Where can we store our bags/backpacks, umbrellas and coats?

There are storage boxes located in the main building as well as Liljevalchs+ where you can lock these in. We kindly ask you to share lockers when possible, as they are rather few.

Are food and drinks permitted in the art space?

No.

We have made/want to make a reservation in the Art Lab, what should we wear?

There are aprons available on site, but it’s encouraged to think about wearing practical clothes suitable for creating.

Can we stay in the art space after the guided tour?

The school class must leave the Kunsthalle after the guided tour if it ends before 11AM. If the end of the tour is after 11, it’s permitted to stay. Remember that the accompanying teachers are responsible for the pupils during the entire stay.
