A visit to Liljevalchs can take everything from an hour to a full day. Below, you’ll find some suggestions on how to plan your visit depending on how much time you have.
If you have one hour on your hands:
Focus on one of our current exhibitions, Ylva Snöfrid’s The House of the Muses or When We See Us – A Century of Black Figuration in Painting. If you’re visiting on a Tuesday-Sunday, we kindly recommend you to join a free introduction of the exhibition, given by one of our guides, at 12 PM and 3 PM.
If you have two hours on your hands:
Two hours is enough time to see both Ylva Snöfrid’s exhibition The House of the Muses and When We See Us – A Century of Black Figuration in Painting. If you’re visiting on a Tuesday-Sunday, we kindly recommend you to join a free introduction of the exhibition given by one of our guides, at 12 PM and 3 PM. Round off your visit by stopping by our shop located in Liljevalchs+ or by having a coffee at Blå+.
If you have a full day:
In a full day, you have plenty of time to discover both Ylva Snöfrid’s exhibition The House of the Muses and When We See Us – A Century of Black Figuration in Painting. While walking through Liljevalchs+, we invite you to observe the architecture, designed by the architect Gert Wingårdh. Then, pause for lunch at restaurant Blå Porten, and if the sun is out, we recommend you to have a seat in their garden oasis. Finish the stay with a visit to our shop, where you can purchase a memory from the Kunsthalle. On the way home, we recommend you to pass by our square and greet Charlotte Gyllenhammar’s sculpture Ute, Flicka.
If you’re visiting Liljevalchs with children:
We recommend you to come on a Thursday or Friday, when our Art Lab is open. There you can make masks inspired by Ylva Snöfrid’s exhibition The House of the Muses. Fun for the whole family!
The digital application usually opens in late August/early September. The dates may vary depending on the year. Here you can find everything you need to know about applying to Vårsalongen.
