Animator and filmmaker Malin Erixon is awarded the Liljevalchs and San Michele Foundation scholarship.
Liljevalchs and the San Michele Foundation have a long-standing collaboration for the benefit of the arts, aimed at artists who have enriched or enrich Stockholm's culture in one way or another. The scholarship includes three weeks' accommodation at Villa San Michele in Capri and SEK 50,000 for travel and subsistence.
The 2022 scholarship winner is animator and filmmaker Malin Erixon, whose films have captivated both the film and art worlds with their intelligence, warmth and humour. Malin Erixon receives the Liljevalch and San Michele scholarship in the hope that her creative desire and curiosity will be inspired by the beautiful Villa San Michele and Capri.
Malin Erixon was born in 1975 and lives and works in Stockholm. Her films have been shown at festivals, museums and art galleries around the world. In 2014, she was nominated for a Guldbag for best short film with the film But You Are a Dog. In addition to Mårten Castenfors, director of Liljevalchs, and Kristina Kappelin, curator of Villa San Michele, the scholarship jury included artists Henrik Samuelsson and Susanne Vollmer.
