I paint, sculpt and make public art. In my art I often express emotions such as longing, being in love or suffering. In the ”Bejeweled Pink Coral ” my intention was to express the mystery of the secret world of the sea, it’s calm and magic. I love the colors of coral and their beautiful shapes, and I wanted to express the feelings I had for coral in my art. ”The Bejeweled Pink Coral” is the most recent piece I have created in a series I have been working on for five years, with the theme of seaforms and coral. I began creating these artworks for my ”Seaforms and the Sacred” exhibit at the Passagen Art Hall in Linköping, southern Sweden, in 2023.
When making the ”Bejeweled Pink Coral” I used many glass beads which added to the playful, yet elegant, feeling of the artwork. In addition, I have created the sculpture ”Entrance to Atlantis” as part of this series. It is a two meter high pink ornately carved sculpture, which has recently been dedicated as a public artwork at the Agora Art Center in Skäggetorp, southern Sweden. My wish is that it will be a ”symbol of hope” for the Skäggetorp region, both for those who live there and for those who visit the area, which has suffered from crime and economic problems. Other public artworks I have designed include the ”Golden Love Pavilion” located in Linköping’s Trädgårdsförening (Central Park) and ”The Love Bench” near Linköping’s Concert and Congress building.
