Liljevalchs on Djurgården, Stockholm's most beautiful art gallery. Here we show art and form in large and small exhibitions.
Open every day of the week, welcome!
Liljevalch's exhibition program is aimed at a broad and new audience as well as those with a particular interest in certain artists or art and design directions. Each new art year begins with the well-known juried Spring Salon.
Liljevalchs belongs to the City of Stockholm and was inaugurated in 1916 as the first independent and public art gallery for contemporary art in Sweden. The beloved old Bergstenshuset was designed by architect Carl Bergsten, a tranquil environment with beautiful and indirect skylight. Behind our pink house, there were thoughts of building studios as early as 1918. Since Liljevalchs+ opened in 2021, the art gallery has gained an additional 2,400 sqm on three floors for exhibitions and greater capacity to accommodate sensitive and large-scale works of art.
Liljevalchs konsthall is led by Joanna Sandell Wright.
