I am from the USA, now living and working in Sweden. My work is an interpretation of life, with a particular focus on nature and the richness it offers when we take the time to truly observe and engage with it. Stoplight Observations embodies this perspective, reflecting both my relationship with the natural world and my approach to the painting process.

Rather than being representational, my paintings function as visual narratives – short stories shaped by time, place, and lived experience. They express my deep connection to nature and my curiosity about why certain landscapes resonate intensely while others, equally beautiful, often go unnoticed. The environments I am drawn to typically reveal distinctive interactions of color, movement, and texture, enriched by subtle variations of light and sound.

I embrace uncertainty and experimentation in my practice, trusting instinct while continually pushing creative boundaries. Chaos is an essential part of my process; pigments are layered, manipulated, and reworked until clarity begins to emerge. There is often a sense of tension, almost a struggle before the composition resolves and my vision becomes clear on the canvas.

As a self-taught artist, I have had the freedom to develop a personal visual language unconstrained by formal academic conventions. This independence has allowed my work to evolve organically through intuition, exploration, and personal discovery.
