The Spring Salon 100 years
20 May 2022 - 21 August 2022
This summer Liljevalchs will launch the postponed anniversary exhibition Vårsalongen 100 years. It features a cavalcade of famous artists from the salon's generous history from 1921 to the present day.
The Spring Salon is - in principle - the country's oldest uninterrupted exhibition format, dating back more than 100 years. Since its inception in 1921, it has become a beloved and stubborn tradition that has grown over time into a veritable folk festival. The 100th anniversary exhibition shows a selection of the Salon's rich history and brings together some 200 artists who have made their debut or have recently participated in the Salon.
The twelve halls offer a delightful spectacle with everything from the masters of the past, Sigrid Hjertén, Einar Jolin and Sven X-et Erixson, to some of today's most popular artists such as Lars Lerin and Lena Cronqvist. Of course, with the same breadth and openness of artistic expression that has come to characterise the brilliance of the Spring Fair - painting, sculpture, video, photography and drawing, printmaking, design, craft and installation.
