The works presented at Liljevalchs Vårsalong were painted in Stockholm, summer of 2024, just after moving to Sweden permanently from South Africa.

I work with paint as I am fascinated by its possibilities. I like to push the medium.

These works have a strong use of color to give the imagined landscapes a sense of abstraction, a sense of déja vu. “I have been here” is the feeling.

I would like the viewer to experience the same calm feeling we get when we interact with nature. A gentle nudging of the viewer to stop and listen.
