Spring Fair 2023

Liljevalch's Spring Salon is a beloved, controversial and lively tradition since its inception over a hundred years ago. This year, 159 artists are showing 298 works in Liljevalch's halls.

As many as 4,135 people applied to Liljevalch's Spring Salon 2023, which is a new record. Only once before has the number of applicants exceeded 4000.

Jury of the Year

This year's jury consisted of art scholar Isabella Nilsson, artist Jockum Nordström, and jury chairman Isak Nilson, deputy director of Liljevalchs art gallery.

Spring Salon Mix

The Spring Salon, with its breadth of technique and expression, has grown into a well-attended event, giving participants a unique opportunity to be seen by a very large audience.

Young Spring Salon 2023

Thursday 9 March sees the opening of the tenth edition of the younger and smaller version of the Spring Salon - Young Spring Salon. It will feature 52 young people with a total of 58 works. Read more here

What is Vårsalongen?

The spring salon is a jury-judged exhibition. The first Spring Salon opened in 1921. All works are for sale and the price is set by the participants themselves.

Who can apply?

Anyone who has reached the age of 18 at least the year before the exhibition opens may apply. The spring salon is open to all artistic expressions and techniques.

How does the jury work?

The jury's mission is to choose works that can interact with each other in a generous and pleasurable exhibition. Each work is assessed anonymously.
